CXC’s solution has delivered an enhanced contractor management process to GitLab, with the solution launching in Poland, Ukraine, Romania and Portugal.

Background

The GitLab team has members in countries and regions all over the world. All of their roles are remote; currently, they are focused on hiring in countries where they have entities or partnerships with professional employment organisations (such as CXC).

Challenge

Before engaging with CXC, GitLab had a limited ability to engage talent in new markets compliantly, limiting their business growth and increasing their risk profile.

Specifically in Europe, GitLab required a scalable solution and expert partner to allow them to access and engage talent in markets where they do not have a legal entity or understanding of the local regulations relating to labour law. As their remote workforce was distributed throughout the region, they needed a partner to consolidate and manage the workforce.

Additionally, they needed a model that would reduce the risk of employee misclassification, false self-employment and protect its IP when hiring independent contractor talent in new markets.

Our solution

CXC partnered with GitLab to provide compliance, contract and payroll management solutions to their contingent workforce and future hires. An initial transition project was initiated to transfer all in scope resources within Poland and Ukraine to CXC’s program.

After a successful launch and solution implementation within these countries, GitLab brought Romania into scope, followed by Portugal.
